James B. Holbrook
Following a 43 year career in law enforcement, Brother James B. Holbrook joined our staff as Associate Pastor in September of 2014. Brother Holbrook was saved at Edmundson Road Baptist Church in Edmundson, Missouri right here in St. Louis County. He brings with him a vast amount of experience having answered the call to preach the Gospel and serving in the capacity of Associate Pastor, Outreach minister, Bus Captain and Sunday School teacher.
He and Margaret, his wife of 33 years, have been faithful members of Victory Baptist for more than eight years. Brother Holbrook has served here in the capacity of trustee, Church clerk and Sunday School teacher.
As Associate Pastor, Brother Holbrook makes hospital and “shut-in” visits, heads up our Children’s Church ministry as well as our Young At Heart Ministry with our “Senior Saints.” He often handles preaching responsibilities in our pastor’s absence. We are blessed and privileged to have Brother Holbrook as part of our Victory Team.
Brandon G. Shull
Victory Baptist welcomes Brother Shull back to the fold. After a brief time in the pastorate and a few years in Springfield, Missouri working with a ministry with a heavy emphasis on marriage, Brother Shull joins the staff at Victory believing that God has led him to this place for this time.
Brother Shull and his wife Wanda have three children. Katelyn and Jonathan are both preparing for service at Heartland Baptist Bible College in Oklahoma City and Christina lives in Springfield. Brother and Mrs. Shull are both from Texas and have retained that gentle southern charm you would expect.
Brother Shull's responsibilities include Outreach and Music as well as assisting the pastor where he is needed.
Elijah A Jarvis
Brother Jarvis comes to us from Syracuse, New York. He is the son of David and Regina Jarvis and brother to nine siblings. While attending Buckley Road Baptist Church, he made a profession of faith at the age of five. As the years he realized that he hadn’t fully understood so at the age of thirteen alone in his bedroom he got saved—for real this time.
Brother Elijah graduated from high school in 2013 and went to Heartland Baptist Bible College in Oklahoma City to pursue a one year Bible Certificate. After that first year of college, God called him to the Gospel ministry and he surrendered his life to the Lord at the age of eighteen. He returned to Heartland for the full four year program which he finished in December of 2017. He will receive his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Pastoral Studies with a Minor in Youth Ministries in May of this year.
We are excited to have Brother Elijah join the staff at Victory Baptist Church. He will be working with our outreach and youth ministries. God has given him a heart for young people and he cannot wait to see what God will do for us here.
